A Hand Axe is a tool used to harvest Logs from the various trees of Oberin. Hand Axes randomly break on failures just as Mining Axes do, so make sure to stock up when embarking on long lumberjacking trips. As with all common tools, they can be purchased at the General Store, Blacksmith, and Tinker Shop.
There are also two types of specialized Hand Axe. Amber Axes are designed to only collect Amber, but are generally considered useless as logs have far greater monetary value than amber. Then there are the valued Dwarven Hand Axes, which double lumberjacking efficiency.
Hand Axes can be also used as rather weak weapons, and can be poisoned or enchanted just as ordinary weapons can. However, using a Hand Axe in this way is generally inadvisable, given that they break as quickly as any other tool would in combat. Still, some clerics swore by the axe's usefulness in combat, as they were the only "weapon" that wouldn't cause the cleric's mana to drain. But this factor became irrelevant in Build 44.0 (March 2018), which resulted in clerics being able to wield silver weapons and use magic at the same time.
